Language German
300 years ago Palatians sought refuge in Pennsylvania. They brought their language and their culture with them to the New World which can still be found today: People of this region speak a mixture of Palatian dialect and English called „Pennsylvania Dutch“, they eat „Saumagen“ and chase „Elwetritsche“. The film accompanies Douglas Madenford on his journey through his homeland Pennsylvania and through Germany showing how culture and language have developped over time.
